Clean up on BOGO deals, fall programs at Commerce City Recreation Center
COMMERCE CITY – We’ve finished our fall cleaning, and the Commerce City Recreation Center is again open for business. New paint, fresh-scrubbed tile and carpeting, newly lacquered gym floors and gleaming surfaces await residents and new class registrants – come see for yourself and take a tour of the facility.
The Recreation Center has an array of exercise and weight training machines to accommodate your workout, including several new pieces of equipment that add to the center’s sparkle. We’ve added six treadmills, six cross trainers, three upright bikes, three recumbent bikes and a stair stepper – all right out of the box (don’t worry, we already put them together.)
We’ll show you how to use them at our free weight room orientations, held the third Wednesday of each month, 5-6 p.m.
As the kids return to school, isn’t it time for you to return to your fitness routine? Check out our fitness classes – we offer several FREE classes with your membership, including the new Latinas on Wheels and favorites like Early Bird Fitness, Low Impact Aerobics and Zumba. Plus, we offer free health seminars throughout the year; two upcoming programs are Better Sleep and Healthier Living Colorado classes.
While we used our muscles to clean, our brains were getting a workout, too – and we came up with a deal that outshines all the others: Buy One, Get One FREE on fitness classes and personal training sessions. For details on this awesome BOGO deal, contact fitness coordinator Robert Buck at 303-289-3762. Hurry to take advantage of this offer – it ends Sept. 30.
Fall classes are starting soon – hurry in and sign up for your favorite programs. The Recreation Center offers an array of activities for all ages, from gymnastics and dancing to flag football, volleyball, basketball, swimming and martial arts.
Want to learn to play the piano? Try our new half-day class, which will teach you all the chords you need to play any song. Other creative classes include Bob Ross Painting, drawing workshops ceramics and more.
Adults 50 and older will find lots of new programs, including “Journey to a New Career,” which offers tips for getting back into a job search and “Family Feud, Commerce City style,” a fun event that focuses on our own community.
Parents looking for a quality preschool will find everything they need here at the Recreation Center. Our Kinder Kids program is offered Monday-Thursday with additional, specialty classes on Fridays.
Youth programs include Father/Son Fishing, Sports-apalooza, Guitar Heroes and many more. For teens, we’ve got boxing, racquetball, Teen Jams and Geocaching, which takes teens on a treasure hunt using GPS units.
Now that we’re done cleaning, it’s your turn -- come in and clean up on all the programs we offer.
