PROVIDES ADDITIONAL RESOURCE FOR RESIDENTS DURING STORM EVENTS
COMMERCE CITY – In the wake of the recent summer storms, Commerce City has activated an information hotline for residents to learn more about the latest road closures and other pertinent details, such as debris removal. The phone number is 303-227-8776 and will remain active throughout the summer.
All roads within Commerce City are open, with the exception being Sand Creek Drive South. This I-270 Frontage Road will be closed through early next week while CDOT completes repairs. More information can be found on www.coloradodot.info. Throughout the day, city staff surveyed conditions and found the presence of large trees being down and/or in the streets is isolated not widespread. Areas reported to the city earlier in the day have been cleared, although some debris may be located in the rights-of-way. Residents may cut the downed trees and branches into smaller pieces and bundle them for pick up by Waste Management as part of their regular trash pickup next week.
With the potential of additional storms over the weekend, residents should adhere to emergency warning signals and use caution when driving through intersections or using trails where standing water may be present. The phone number is for information only; callers will not be able to leave a message on this line. If there is an emergency or public hazard, residents are encouraged to call 911. For additional questions, concerns or support, residents are asked to call the police non-emergency number at 303-287-7453.
